University of Life returns to First Presbyterian on Friday, October 4th, with our 8:30AM Continental Breakfast to enjoy with friends. Guests are always welcome at these informal gatherings that are of interest to aware Christians. Please bring a friend and join us in Swain Hall; the class begins promptly at 9AM and runs for a short hour.
On October 4th the award-winning DVD of the Seven Parables of Jesus will be shown in its entirety. This DVD is fifty-eight minutes long so please be sure your coffee cup is filled before it starts; you won’t want to miss a minute of this exquisite film.
Friday, October 11 will be a totally scientific film titled The Privileged Planet which describes the location and atmosphere that make our planet capable of supporting habitation. You will be amazed by the finely tuned
factors that make earth suitable for complex life and will wonder if this was really only a coincidence or originated with a much deeper intelligence from within our cosmos.
October 18 brings our first guest speaker of the season. Rod Beale will share with us his testimony and life’s journey with God in The Plan. You will get to know Rod through his experiences and faith; his is a wonderful story to share.
Friday, October 25th, will be a short DVD titled Lord, I’m Yours, Billy Graham. Ninety-four-year -old Evangelist Billy Graham was lovingly known as the “World’s Preacher;” he has ministered to more live audiences than any one else in history. Rev. Graham was the confidante of presidents and common people alike as his messages spread throughout the world.
